Alexandra Headlands Skatepark

Alexandra Headlands Skatepark has had a major upgrade. The new skatepark had its official opening on Tuesday 10th of October 2017. Built by Convic, it replaces the old street park which was pretty good in its own right. There used to be a concrete half pipe and a decent sized street section. Removing the formalities, this spot is more commonly known as the Alex Heads Skatepark.

There is a main bowl in the centre. Either sides and around it are a long sections of quarters. There is one main sloped rail that is double angled for approaches in either direction. Plenty of ledges bordering the park as well. Unless you’re a local who’s used to the beach lifestyle, this park is going to be a real treat! Being right next to the beach you can have a quick surf to cool off. Couldn’t think of anything better. It’s going to be fast and smooth you can tell already. We know its built by Convic and it shows too.

At the time of taking photos the park wasn’t open, but as mentioned it will be open very soon. Already there are lights installed, and it would be a very awesome session at night. Followed by dinner and drinks in the local precinct what could be better. Would have been nice if they’d used shade sails. There’s no escape from the sun but it’s early days they might build something.

How to get to Alexandra Headlands Skatepark

The park is next to the Alex Heads Surf Lifesavng club right on the beach front. It’s in Buhk Park which is on Alexandra Parade, with a car park accessible out front. Bus services run along Alexandra Parade. Check the local council site or Translink for more information.

This spot is jam packed on weekends. Markets are held next door and the beach, park and skatepark are crowded.
