Dicky Beach Skatepark

Tucked away behind the tree line of the beach front is the Dicky Beach Skatepark. Wanted to get the word Dicky in a few times just for the lol’s. I don’t know if its the beach setting or the tree coverage or both that makes me feel like I’m playing Skate 3 on Xbox! Specifically the the Danny Way Hawaiian dream DLC. But that’s enough flattery its obviously a bit rough on the bitumen but it’s still a good time.

Main parts are the 4-5 foot concrete half pipe with coping, and a 4 foot bowl at the far corner. Next to the half is a roll in, then a combined 6 stair and 3 stairs but the run up to these isn’t great. There’s also a smaller half and a transition bank on the left side as you enter. Quite a bit to work with here. Did have to contend with a few scooter kids but that was on a bright and sunny Sunday. There’s probably a ratio of 1 scooter per 2 caravans at the neighbouring caravan park!

How to get to Dicky Beach Skatepark

Dicky Beach is about 2kms north of Caloundra, a bit further north than Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast. If coming from the south you’ll exit off the Bruce Highway to State Route 6 which is Caloundra Rd. First exit off to Nicklin Way, right turn onto Beerburrum St and take it down the end to the Caravan Park. You’ll find it in between the caravan park and the beach. There’s parking for 20 odd cars there.
