Greenbank Skatepark

On the corner of the Greenbank Recreation reserve sits the prefab Greenbank Skatepark. It’s made up of 4 elements bolted to a concrete slab. On one side there’s an 8ft wide, 5ft high quarter and an 8ft bank. On the other side a 12ft wide, 5ft high quarter and 3ft wide rollin. In the middle sits a funbox which contains a 3ft wedge ramp, launch pad and a grind box. There’s also a small flat rail. As it’s prefab, the elements are placed onto the concrete. It uses metal sheeting to provide the transition between the flat and the elements. Unfortunately these have lifted in places and have created over a centimetre gap. This may be alright for larger wheels, but if you’re not moving at speed with smaller skateboard wheels this could be an issue.

Seats and a shelter sit behind one of the ramps. There is a surveillance camera mounted to the side of the skatepark. In the wider park you’ll also find fitness equipment, a playground and sporting fields. There is a shop and service station right across the road.

The Logan City Council does not list this skatepark on its list of skate facilities. Perhaps they are trying to distance themselves from throwing money into Rhino Ramps. The nearby older, smaller Ison Park Skatepark in Greenbank rates a mention on their list though, which seems a tad strange.

Getting to Greenbank Skatepark

Located on the U bend after you cross the bridge is the Greenbank Skatepark. As you come into the suburb on Middle Road. It’s easily visible from the road and there is plenty of parking available in the sports ground car park. The entrance is just on the left after the ramps. Public Transport isn’t an option out this way so you’ll need a car.
