Australian Skateboarding Federation (ASF)

The Australian Skateboarding Federation, or ASF, is the peak body for skateboarding in the country. They are dedicated to the promotion of skateboarding in areas such as participation, development and competitions. This is a skateboarding only association, with no other disciplines catered for.

The ASF runs a series of contests each year. These include bowl, ramp and street from small local comps right up to Australian Championships. A calendar is available on their website for you to check out what’s coming up.

Developing pathways for those from grass roots through to pros is part of the Australian Skateboarding Fererations Modus Operandi. As part of this they have implemented talent identification and coaching programs, youth programs and competitions.

There is also a focus on assisting others to grow skateboarding as a whole. They do this by empowering and supporting others to run events and programs and helping with insurance.

Renton Millar is one of the driving forces behind the ASF, and our international representative with the International Skateboard Federation. The former world vert champ has been skating for some 30 years and is the owner of Shredability.

The ASF took over from Skate Australia in 2015 after its demise.
