Bellbowrie Skatepark

Bellbowrie Skatepark is a medium sized skatepark in Booker Park in the south western suburb of Bellbowrie.  It’s a decent sized skatepark and seems like it would make for a good skate session because of the arrangement of quarters. When you first walk into the park there’s a small street section with shallow banks, a basic handrail and also a ledge.  The main section spreads over a fairly large area too. There are adjoining bowls, ledges and roll ins around the perimeter. In the centre on the main flat there’s a funbox which looks like a combination of two pyramids. The quarters and fun box are a concrete, as opposed to the bitumen flat that is not as smooth.

The good thing is how open and expansive it is with quarters around the perimeter, and they surround the park in a a horse shoe shape. Plenty of run up and get speed up on the funbox to approach the quarters in any direction. It was very quiet on a school day, maybe because this place is not really close or central to Brisbane and not near a train line.

How to get to Bellbowrie Skatepark

This park is about 22 kms southwest of Brisbane city. Turn into Sugarwood St, off Moggill Rd into the Bellbowrie Sports and Recreation club to get to the park. Your best option would be to catch a bus from the city, due to lack of public transport options. Catch a bus from the City and leave at the stop “Moggill Rd at Bellbowrie near Birkin Rd, Bellbowrie”. From there it’s a walk of a few hundred metres or less.
