Capalaba Skatepark

Capalaba Skatepark is about 20 kms East of brisbane towards the Redland Bay area.  This definitely one of the better parks in Brisbane, yet its a hike there if you live closer to town. Aside from a pretty good run of ledges to grind with their flat metal coping, you also can mix it up on the two stair or three stair drop. Once you’re past the obstacles the main feature is the large six foot clover shaped bowl at the other end of the park. It’s smooth blue painted concrete transitions are a lot of fun to ride. It has some ledges and a vert wall thrown in as well. If acid drops are your thing especially, there’s the three levels of ledges that surround the bowl on two sides.

Plenty of shaded areas and places to sit, and toilets nearby. Lighting for this park looks good. Expecting that its a good a night session out there due to good placement of what looks like decent lights. With KFC next door and a Skate shop (Skatebiz) across the road, what else would you need? Lol.

Getting to Capalaba Skatepark

This park is off Old Cleveland Road in the heart of Capalaba. Turn left at Banfield Lane there’s probably a good number car parks free. If going by public transport the bus is the best option. Bus services running Brisbane to Cleveland stop a few hundred metres away. It’s a long walk from Birkdale Train Station however because Capalaba just isn’t anywhere near the train lines. You’d be skating almost 5 kms to get there. Still worth it though, a good day of fun to be had in the bowl.
