Deception Bay Skatepark

Deception Bay Skatepark is in the same park as the Deception Bay PCYC and Aquatic Centre. The entrance is via Maine Terrace or Bailey Road. This is a good sized street park that also offers a decent sized metal half pipe about 5 foot high and about 12 foot wide. Around the perimeter of the park there is a decent assortment of quarters. A funbox with a flat to sloped rail features in the centre of the park. This looks like a lot of fun if you want to get board slides and grinds down. The bitumen can be a bit rough as you go from end to end. Plenty of banks, about three or four of them placed between the quarters.

There are lights overhead on the half pipe side of the park, so it could make for a good ramp session at night. There is no shade, which was not so bad on a sunny winter’s day but must be dehydrating out there in summer. Probably a good thing that Woolies is nearby to get some energy drinks!
