Sunnybank Skatepark

Update: This old haunt had an upgrade in 2020 and we’ve changed the name accordingly. As small as it is, we’re still calling this the Sunnybank Skatepark, and there’s now more here than just a shallow bowl. The old dish was given a makeover and a new concrete halfpipe added into the mix. The ramp stands around 5ft tall and has metal coping and large platforms. a fresh coat of paint and this ol beast has come back to life.

Sunnybank Bowl is a shallow U shaped bowl with no transition. Like a few others built in Brisbane in the 90s. Unfortunately its about all the suburb of Sunnybank has to offer. Access the park from Woff street which comes off Beenleigh Rd in Sunnybank. As mentioned this another one of the early Brisbane bowls that is good for nailing some tricks given how shallow it is. But also, there is no coping and no real lip so you’re rolling in after each trick. Sunnybank Bowl is in the larger Les Atkinson Park on the upside of Stable Swamp Creek. Plenty of tree shade, and toilets are further up near the kids playground. There’s no lighting for this bowl. Across the road there’s a Foodworks so no problems getting yourself an energy drink to give you a buzz lol.
