Tweed Sk8 ParkMinjungbal Dr & Heffron St, Tweed Heads South NSW 2486, Australia
Tweed Sk8 Park stands out from other skateparks thanks to some big yellow metal structures. Lined up along a pathway on the main rd, it’s hard to miss.
This skateable art takes a variety of shapes to offer up different angles. There’s 4 larger ones as well as a grind box and ledge. They include ledges, banks, hips and a wall.
The Skate Bowl is smooth, fast and the transitions range from around 4ft up to 8ft. The skate bowl is a good size. A flipped F is the best way of describing the shape. There’s a few hips and extras on the transitions. There is an extension on one corner right next to a wide roll in. A flat section takes up another wall and has a small quarter with coping in the middle of it. A few skate-able yellow metal chairs make up the park.
The Tweed skatepark has no facilities of its own aside from a shelter and seats. There is however a major shopping centre just down the road. There’s also the pool facilities next door.
South Tweed Skate Park and Tweed Heads Skate Park are other names. The Tweed Sk8 Park is the name given by the council and used on signage around the facility.
Getting to Tweed Sk8 Park
Getting to the park is straight forward. It sits on the old highway running between Kingscliff and Coolangatta in South Tweed. There’s plenty of parking on site as it’s shared with a public swimming pool. There is a bus stop right out the front of the park.
The closest park to the north is the Cooloongatta Skatepark on the Gold Coast, just over the border in QLD.
