Looking for skateparks with a metal halfpipe? Look no further as Skateboarder has you covered.
Metal ramps are commonly built by councils as they last a lot longer than their wood counterparts. Whilst not as forgiving as wood, they still have more give than a concrete ramp. The downside with metal ramps is they can heat up pretty quickly and any slide burns you get are usually pretty nasty. They can also deteriorate and rust over time leaving surface holes such as at Upper Coomera. Come off and hit one of these and you’re in for a tetanus shot and some savage cuts.
Prefab Skateparks often incorporate metal into the mix as well, but they are commonly of a lower quality than a purpose built metal halfpipe.
